Frank Herbert’s Dune
Dune is one of my all time favorite series. Every time I read it, I get inspired. No one else has dissected the interplay of power, politics and religion while building an incredible word like the great Frank Herbert. “No more terrible disaster could befall your people than for them to fall into the hands of a Hero.”
This line contradicts everything modern storytelling has trained us to believe. We are auto-tuned to think that saviors and chosen ones drive the world and offer deliverance. Herbert offers a cautionary tale about the truth behind power, manipulated faith and the danger of messianic heroes with ulterior motives.

Paul Atreides Sketch
Of course I got the itch to do a sketch of Paul too with all of his inner demons.
